SUSTAINABILITY

FAMILY BUSINESS ROOTED IN SUSTAINABILITY

At Omega Lumber, we understand the importance of sustainability in the lumber industry. Our foresters and logging crews adhere to state and local regulations in regards to the harvesting of timber. We create and implement the proper harvest plans for each job, ensuring that our logging operations are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

While the landowner’s wants and needs are our main objective when cutting any piece of timber, we also prioritize doing right by the environment. This commitment to sustainability allows for the regeneration of our planet’s renewable resources. It ensures us the opportunity of re-harvesting timber and also maximizes the landowner’s asset.

SUSTAINABILITY IN THE WOOD & TIMBER INDUSTRY

The sustainability of the wood and timber industry is a critical issue that we take very seriously. We believe that these industries have a significant role to play in promoting sustainable practices. By adhering to regulations and implementing proper harvest plans, we can ensure that our operations do not harm the environment. Moreover, sustainability is not just about preserving the environment. It's also about ensuring the long-term viability of the industry itself. By practicing sustainable harvesting, we can ensure that future generations will have access to the same resources that we do today.

IS LUMBER SUSTAINABLE?

Lumber is a renewable resource, but only if it's harvested sustainably. At Omega Lumber, we are committed to sustainable practices that ensure the long-term availability of timber. We believe that with the right practices, the lumber industry can be a model of sustainability.

SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRY EXAMPLES

Omega Lumber's foresters and logging crews are certified by the Pennsylvania Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and are proud to be an example of a sustainable industry. We adhere to all regulations and guidelines, and we continually strive to improve our practices. Our commitment to sustainability is not just good for the environment—it's also good for our business.
